What to check in Berlin!

Hey everybody!

Berlin is an interesting city and you´ll find loads of useful tips in the Net, in Berlin-guides, from friends and so on…

I don´t claim to know everything about Berlin – I guess it´s an impossible claim anyway… But I do know food and I do know drinks. So you´ll find here some of my favourite places in Berlin – places you might not find in guides and whatsoever… Of course it´s my personal taste and there´s no guarantee that you share it. But still these recommendations could make your stay little more interesting… Ey, and you can always blame me if you´re taking your friends there;-) So check them from time to time, ´cause I gonna continue to add new tips…

Definitely best Pizza in town! Unfortunately the place hasn´t a web-address, so I´m not able to provide pictures. It´s a little Italian punk-rock-pizzeria. No pseudo-oh sole mio-shit… Service is sometimes rude, you might even have to wait a while – but believe me, it´s worth it! Just google “Il casolare” and you´ll find just positive critics. They serve aswell other food but that´s not why you´d go there. Many places in Berlin try to copy them but they don´t have it. Not the real thing… The statements of satisfied customers are written literally all over the walls in Il Casolare. Bands like “The Rasmus” left they comments and more.  So, check it out:

Il Casolare, Grimmstraße 30, 10967 Berlin Kreuzberg, Tel: +4930-69506610

Make reservations otherwise it´s probably too crowded to get a table!

Funnily enough the best place in Berlin to eat Thai-food is not even a Thai-restaurant. It´s actually a Cocktail-bar but you get much, much more… They serve great breakfast and Thai-food. Aswell the drinks are fine. Everything used is extremely fresh – a difference that really matters. You just taste it! So check out:

Mutter, Hohenstaufenstr. 4, 10781 Berlin, Tel:  +4930/ 2164990

I used to work quite awhile in Berlins “Sage-Club”. The place is popular and far away from being an “insider”-club. But still if you dig Rock you should check it out on a Thursday. These parties are always great and loads of fun. The other days are in my opinion not so interesting but maybe they are just what you like, so don´t let me keep you from making your own expertise. Program, partypics and more you´ll find here:

And if you should go there before January send Jason, the old Canadian bartender-fellow my regards!

If the smoother tunes are more what you dig, try “Quasimodo”. They have a great Jazz-program and the nicest atmosphere. On Wednesdays after midnight the stage is open to anyone and often these are the most exciting evenings. The crowed is wildly mixed: young students order their beers next to the old connoisseur, who likes his wine. Not too posh, not too trashy – a place open to anyone who likes Jazz.
